And he was home

And his eyes now see it clearly
What was lost so long ago...

Run, he runs
The sound of drums
No one is coming, but still he hears them
Madness has him in his grip

Squeezing tighter, steps now lighter
Light until the breaking point
Every high flier must come down
Darkness left, taken the crown

Through the darkness that arose
It was lost so long ago

The dream left him
Crashed and burning
Nearly no life and no yearning
Left within a shattered soul

And the pathways through this night
Led through swamps of darkest shadows
And his only guiding light
Hard to see when the cold wind blows

Night by night and day by day
Dragging forwards, running backwards
Hour through hour out of decay
He must rise and find a way

And he slowly found the path
What enlights now dearly payed for
Through the help of grace and love
He goes through forgiveness' door

But still there was something missing
Something lost so long ago
Until he finds it he is driven
He must see it, he must know

When he walked on night he saw
Stars above him brightly shining
And he saw the god of war
With the god of love entwining

And he saw the mighty dragon
Taking flight above in heaven
And he saw the wizard cast
A spell upon him, to enlighten

A spell for a lifetime to last

And his eyes now see it clearly
What was lost so long ago
Makes your heart rest when you know
That one thing you love so dearly

He saw the hero the unicorn groom
He saw the elves in moonlight swoon
He saw the flowers of fantasy bloom

And he was home
