A sudden loss of breath
When I see her
Distantly
A beauty not
Within my reach
She may one day
Feel my soul
And witness failure
Falling night
The turbulence revealed
Will she offer
Comfort
Some respite
Or see a vine of evil
Deep within?
My innocence
A travesty
She observes
My scant defense
Against angelic eyes.

My friend, this is beautiful. I know that our worse fears are the ones about ourselves. I believe that we should just take the tiny bits of illusions that life gives us. We are the our biggest judge and hence, our greatest enemy.

Well said, J. I keep wondering if I'm inherently evil, beyond redemption. Fortunately, my transgressions lie mostly in the past. I just wonder if I'm worth some measure of grace. You are correct in saying that we are prone to harsh self-judgement. I know I am, not really due to my actions, but my thinking. Thank you so much!
