Daddy
16 June 2019
You were the first man my heart loved
you showed me all that a man should be
it was your model I used when choosing the one for me
So many sacrifices
day in, day out
year after year
working a job you hated
but your smiles for us never abated
The thousands and thousands
of precious memories
teaching me to shoot
and drive a "three on the tree"
How to tear down a motor, change a tire, I can do it all
fix the plumbing, wire a ceiling fan or cut the yard
nothing too challenging
even when things are hard
To see you care for Momma
as her mind slips
all of her temper tantrums and "hissy fits"
so much tenderness in your eyes
you think I don't notice
as you silently cry
And no matter what you think
you are the best Daddy in the world
no matter how long I live
I'll always be your little girl
Happy Fathers Day Daddy!
