I'm going to have to disagree with that one - being I volunteered for a battered women's shelter for over a decade. Sometimes it can be deadly when not paying attention.
In a zen-sense, unrequited love, basic internet drama, distanced narcissists, stalkers, socio/psychopaths, yes; ignoring removes their control over you. However, ignoring certain behaviours and threats within proximity can, unfortunately for the harassed, prove fatal.

I totally agree with you on that. Too many (even just one) have occurred as the result of only trying to move on.
Yes, my thoughts when this was written was in the figurative sense and not the literal physical one.
Having never experienced that horror, does not lessen the shivers it sends down my back.
I hope this clarifies my intent, and I do wish every woman subjected to those acts, a peaceful and safe resolution.

Re: Re. Six Words To A Peaceful Mind
Absolutely. Terri. I wasn't certain if you were referring to a figurative or tangible situation. I never miss an opportunity to council women regarding domestic violence, because it could save their life.
The issue revolves around mental health, in my opinion. The classic behavioural pattern of any narcissist, sociopath, or psychopath centers on disrupting the life of their victim through any means possible to garner attention. They refuse to acknowledge boundaries ( written or verbal requests, restraining orders, etc. ), or that others are are not separate extensions of themselves; their false sense of entitlement affords them the "right" to invade their victim's lives, be it directly, or through friends and/or employers/clients.
If they cannot control you, they will attempt to intimidate you by trying to control what others think of you. One of the biggest red flags is that they actually accuse their victims of bullying them, a tactic to turn the tables of attention away from their own actions.
Thank you for affording me this platform, Terri. ANY woman out there who may be experiencing domestic abuse or physical/cyber stalking, don't remain quiet. It won't go away if you do. NO MEANS NO. That includes your right to exclude whom you feel is toxic to your life. It's YOUR life, not theirs.
I don't give a shit who it is: a police officer, a priest, or a damn moderator on an internet site. If they are stalking you speak out.
There are laws out there that can protect you, as well as agencies who can intervene with counseling, housing, and emergency assistance for both you and your children if applicable.

So much harder to do than to say! I keep telling myself something along these same lines. It’s not working.

Nothing worthwhile comes easy. It took me years to realize I am the only one responsible for my thoughts and therefore my happiness.
Just keep working on it, for the payoff is immeasurable.
Trust me.
