Once More

The grass is heavy with the damp jewels of night
A restless wind chases leaves from their lofty nests
A distant Whip-poor-will sings one last echoing refrain
Softly the sun wins through the trees and kisses the meadow
It is morning...
A long path stretches ahead of me
I am alone once more
