You were a shooting star
Who briefly passed through this life
To share your light with us
Not meant to linger here
With the rest of us you left behind

Like a meteor you fell to unknown region of this earth
Swept and cast away in the tides of time
Gone to the netherworld
Without leaving a trace to find you

Your life was an unfinished note in a song that will never be sung
A masterpiece of art that will never be exhibited in the hallways of time
A face that will not be remembered by your youngest child in his earliest memory

Yet to me you are never gone
You are always here in my heart always alive
As if you never left at all
Those years I had with you
When we were growing up
Were the best memories I always cherish
You're a brother forever loved

Time has dulled the pain
But the void you left will never be filled
