Creativity

 
Once upon a while. . .
When there was only the Word (John 1: 1-3)
Heavens and earth began the style (Gen 1:1)
and so began creativity's birth.

In seven short days
All we observe and know to be
God created in ways.....
unknown to us,
but His creativeness we do see.

Once upon a today. . .
there were people with imagination:
sculpting, painting, writing away,
and acting with great dissertation.

In a few short thoughts
all they saw and didn't see,
they created many knots
to fill in their gaps of uncertainty.

Once forever and now. . .
Paintings of skies and space,
Hues in just the right place,
Sculptures of mountains and glens,
of lakes and plants and seas ----
How can man compare himself with these?

The world would be a boring place
if animals were all wild or all un-tame,
if God created the human race
to be emotionally alike,
thoughtfully the same.

We the creatures great and small
are created with free wills ----
To walk with God,
or not at all.
