The Storm
Her sails were disheveled and worn, tattered and torn,
As she was headed toward a storm out at sea,
Alone but with the courage of a seafarers lust for life,
Under ominous clouds as far as the eye could see.
At first they were all rough blue waves and sprays,
But quickly they turned to walls overhead and high,
As the raging winds turned everything to blackness,
Followed by lightning in the frightening darkened sky.
She holds steadfast and strong with unwavering calm,
Knowing that all this will blow over into tranquility,
Even as the waters seem endless and relentless,
She has the optimism to eventually attain serenity.
Still she sails through the gales resilient and bold,
Stoic, heroic, eyes forward holding on to the mast,
Looking for the ray of light and hope she can reach,
Knowing deep in her heart that this too shall pass.
The seafarer has a date with fate beyond the vast ocean,
To cross the brine and dine with deities and gods,
But through this, the harshest of tempests she must go,
To conquer all fear so austere and beat all the odds.
