Princess of Despair

Endings alike beginnings,
all are scary and hard.
Losses alike winnings,
both will leave us scarred,
with new name burned in mind,
and fingers crossed.

There never was a happy ending.
Not for us. Not even apart.
But the time we spent spending,
in our pointillistic art:
So beautifully bare - and
like broken sieve.

And so with air in our chests,
we meet for the last time.
Lovers, strangers, and guests -
committing innocent crime.
Suddenly we're both left behind.
Suddenly we're both lost.

Wilted willows are gently weeping.
Farewell then - my cypress flower.
My depressed beauty with trouble sleeping.
My either too hot or too cold shower.
My princess of despair.
My will to live.
