Chasing the Sun
(Verse 1)
For too long I’ve been trapped in the shadows of your toxicity
I’ve now decided to do what’s only best for me
I’m sick and tired of caving in to your blackmailing
The light’s returned to my eyes and I can finally see.
(Chorus 1)
I’m lying down on a golden beach
Later I’ll take a dip in the clear blue reef
Enjoy myself until the day is done
I can finally breathe when I’m chasing the sun.
(Verse 2)
My morale was low, and I felt trapped
Didn’t even know the strength I had
It took a while, but I finally understand
That you’re in no position to make demands.
(Chorus 2)
I’m lying down on a golden beach
Later I’ll take a dip in the clear blue reef
Let my walls down so I can have fun
By letting myself go to chase the sun.
At rock bottom, my only choice was to go up
Surrounded by toxic people, I wanted out of that club
I didn’t come out with scars that could be undone
But my soul starts to heal when I’m chasing the sun.
