My Dearest Valentine
When all the poems
of this story have been written
and our dreams dreamt
without expectation
nothing shall prevent
the remembering of Us
in rich gratitude
having loved and been loved.
When our Spirits divert
between that fork of death
and this physical legacy
is no more than poetics
we will think fondly
with our final breath—
together or not
'Twas enough to've loved
and been loved in return—
it always was.

How simply yet stunningly phrased. ❤
My fondest memories will always be of You and Us. 💖
You've captured our time here together in words with the perfecting timing of your photographic nature. 📷
I Love You! 💜💏💋

Lovely.
Confident assurance in the virtues of tried and proven love!
Can one really have loved and lost? I don't think so: loving is giving and one cannot lose anything that was not stolen.

Re: Re. My Dearest Valentine
Thank you, my friend. We appreciate you greatly! Tis a TRUE friend who celebrates another's love without envy.
Tis wonderful indeed ( and a blessing ) to have discovered your soul twin. While there are many forms of soul mates, and many contrasts of twin flames - there is but one soul twin. To discover one another in a lifetime is a blessing - it simply means we're one step closer to a lifetime together.

I very much liked "... the fork of death ..."
In the spirit of a teeny tiny honest critique, in the lines:"
"Twas enough to've loved
and been loved in return— "
"to've" felt extremely awkward to read, and might flow better as "to have" even if this is a departure via poetic-license from the (presumably) quoted lines.

Thanks, SeaCat!
I actually went back and forth with that very line; however, felt that to've went better with 'Twas. I'll ask Johnny which he likes! It's his poem now!
I haven't forgotten about your critique, either - just been very busy!
