Kisses and Pain
He kisses you gently and parades you around.
You smile so sweetly as you start to blush.
Love is all that is seen on those perfect days.
You have the perfect marriage or so it may seem.
Behind closed doors you are a bitch and a whore.
A punching bag for all of his hate.
What did I do? What did I say?
I know that I’m wrong, I deserve this pain.
He loves me I know because he told them so.
I try to please him but I always seem to fail.
I brag of his kindness, love and respect.
I wear long sleeves to cover the bruises.
A little extra powder and know one will know.
He doesn’t deserve to be seen in this light.
I know it’s my fault. I really must change.
I will figure out how to please him one day.
