and how the seas roiled,
the skies turned black and fell,
winter wind cut deep
into the bones--veins
knotted, braincase melted,
the taste of regret
lodged in my esophagus...
but love endures.
love is placid, patient, pure.

and tonight i'm her knight in tinfoil -
smiling in my sleep,
even in my dreams
i kneel to her everlasting light.
