Plague
Why do you plague my depths?
A dark fish,
You harrow these waters,
This lake is mine to keep.
Silver shoals pass,
In fleeting moments,
Yet once again from the depths
you emerge,
Time and time again.
It haunts me,
To watch you pass,
What once was so crystal, so pure,
Now murky, clouded and rancid.
You swim so hurriedly,
In opposite directions,
Frenetic. Life and soul,
Yet you plague mine continuously.
And I wait, til the darkness is gone,
Waters pure again and still,
The moment has passed,
And you are gone,
Taken from this pool,
I constantly endeavour
to cleanse and renew.
A dark fish,
You harrow these waters,
This lake is mine to keep.
Silver shoals pass,
In fleeting moments,
Yet once again from the depths
you emerge,
Time and time again.
It haunts me,
To watch you pass,
What once was so crystal, so pure,
Now murky, clouded and rancid.
You swim so hurriedly,
In opposite directions,
Frenetic. Life and soul,
Yet you plague mine continuously.
And I wait, til the darkness is gone,
Waters pure again and still,
The moment has passed,
And you are gone,
Taken from this pool,
I constantly endeavour
to cleanse and renew.
