life in monochrome
I come to you
quietly with reverence
I don't wish to disturb;
your silent waters
your heart speaks to me
of dawn at midnight
cherry blossoms in winter
with an artist's eye
you survey the world
but fail to see what I do~
sepia undertones
cast against onyx skies
is the soul before me
in still life your beauty captured
a black and white photo you took
and put in your back pocket
so you could remember;
what you look like...
before all the pain
I am the tempest
who sees your true reflection
I mirror it back to you
so you would know...the man I see
free from the monochrome

Re. life in monochrome
Beautiful spill, Brenda
Favorite lines for me:
" in still life your beauty captured...
a black and white photo you took
and put in your back pocket
so you could remember;
what you look like...
before all the pain " <--- reminded me of how indigenous people didn't want their image put on film

Stunning imagery and metaphor. This speaks to me :
"sepia undertones
cast against onyx skies
is the soul before me"
A woman of clear talent, I look forward to reading through your poems!

Dearest Brenda confession I must make openly now to you. Many times when I've had pleasure to read your ink The depth of inner emotions, thoughts. and understanding of the many voices and plateaus we hear and cross. 🌹
You've have mirrors back to my inner being and eye, pieces if me I had to discover. You have brought me hope, inner peace, warmth of caring for another, sharing depth of thoughts openly, and most of all given me a friendship relationship that I hold close to my being, cherish so deeply and will keep close to my heart no matter which plateau in my life I roam.🌹
Thank you dearest Brenda for being you and sharing yourself with us.🙏
love Thomas,🎶💕

Truly beautiful Brenda👏👏
A stunning spill you've shared here
The ending is spectacular,
"I am the tempest
who sees your true reflection
I mirror it back to you
so you would know...the man I see
free from the monochrome "
So poetically profound and wonderful
Love this👏

I suspect you really see in brilliant color, Brenda. Clever use of the photography angle. This one catches the light just right.

Crimmy,
Magical writing my friend. Phenomenal. One of the best poems I've ever read.
That's great poetry, Brenda.
Love,
Matthew.

My Crims, your beautiful words are the shade and shadow between the light and color of thoughts...the inner pain allowing the pleasure to shine...for all to see...
