Eternal amusement

When the guilt is heavy
and the silent screams were being heard
they looked around at the ridicule they received
and realized the real meaning of happiness,
then they finally get a glimpse
of what's important
every human comes to understand
this trip is temporary...

Now humanity is fading
and our bodies aren't built to last,
the future is a fleeting fantasy
and moments drift by fast.
The ticking and the tocs
is this the only way to live?
Nope.
I think I'll create a way of my own.

You don't have to be a genius
to comprehend this conundrum,
fear floods through the flesh.

Ancient or modern,
  religious or abused,
    sinner or lover,
they're all confused.
Expose any one human to eternal amusement
and they'll fuck themselves over.

Every day on the news
another tragedy is televised in real time.
The suffering of the century
is the first to surface.
Reminding them of the situation
that never seems to subside.
Murders and destruction transported to their living rooms.
Perhaps desensitization is the ultimate goal.

What's the reason
for this corroding cultural cohesion?
Broadcasted directly to them
making them feel detached
Do you feel attacked?
