Consumerism 2

(Listening to Sampha - Treasure (Beautiful Boy Soundtrack) aww shit now

Long gone are the days
of 1 report signing off
on your citizen’s worthiness
or just paying your bills on time; alone
to bolster that credit score
now you have to buy your way in
they want to see
revolving credit accounts,
open credit cards,
“Do you want to open account with us?”
I just looked at her…
I guess she was like
Let me leave this ignorant bitch alone
What do you do for a living?
Ready to tap into your economy
Hopefully something
How many kids ya got?
“None”
(Life’s gonna do enough to me)
That shit’s not for everyone well
My mother did it for me
Well I ain’t the woman she is
Nor will I ever be…in that particular respect
(Talking about a government shut down
Somebody ought to shut them down
And see how fast the problem gets fixed
Some people need their shit and don’t
Have parents who’ve been so willing
To give them all their lives
Combined with ones own efforts even in their
Overgrown state at bleep years…
You do the math on this language
but- not everyone’s
That fortunate)
There is a God
(I don't have kids.
I don't know owe nobody shit but my
Mother)
Do you hear me? and
Right now he is fixing
Somebody’s kitchen sink
Somewheres but
With a little something of your own
You don’t have to take nobody’s shit but uh
Everything is determined by
Intake
Including your ability to truly
Participate in democratic
Process…and?
don’t expect me
to be good for the
treadmill belt of consumerism
that keeps you running
like ole Doobie:
a game
that you, me, we all entered in
as part of that birth right
with no real way to completely
de enroll.
