PHILOSOPHICAL GERMS
Lurking in the shadows of my mind
Dark thoughts of yesterdays undermine,
Sneak attacks from the memory
Force me to step back in time –
Feels like the blind leading the blind.
Slipping through unconsciousness
Are sublime and divine
Waiting patiently for me to find,
While traversing the
Landscape of heart and mind
Secretly caressing the hurt and despair.
Friends indeed are always there
Dispensing advice and love to share
To open hearts of those who dare
To come to terms,
That the answers are hidden
In philosophical germs
And my lot in life is to be self aware.
Learn to be free
To be a friend to myself –
To recognise the lust for wealth
Re-define my quest for health
And subdue by stealth,
The wicked ways of man.
For I am the instigator and terminator
Of all my fears
And the defiant march of mortality nears,
Waving its even hand .
Dark thoughts of yesterdays undermine,
Sneak attacks from the memory
Force me to step back in time –
Feels like the blind leading the blind.
