A Golden Light
With head bowed, the prayer begins
but my mind is far from you.
An immeasurable distance has grown
that I can scarcely hear your voice.
The despair overtakes me as
I submerge into its depth
until i can no longer see,
surrounded by a darkness that envelops me.
A faith swiftly draining from me
as I frantically search for the breach inside.
The words of the prayer
summon His Spirit
which starts to hover over,
unbeknownst to me.
My body suddenly feels weightless
as tingles flow over it.
It's then I become
aware of your presence.
Your Spirit twirls around me,
bathing me in its golden light
before bursting and releasing
the chains that held me,
as I fall to free.
