the peace... in war
i'd rather be
at war
fighting
the just fight
for the right
than
be at peace
that is born
of surrender
of bowing
to tyranny

well I am sure Ely
you wouldn't ... :-) unfortunately
some of us humans do give up before they even think of
resistance and label their decision as one in the cause of
peace

Peace under tyranny is only felt when freedom has not been.
Your words, bathed in truth.
Your words, bathed in truth.

never heard a more apt and succinct statement dear Sis! Thank You!
yes... only, when freedom has not been felt.
the peace at heart
of knowing you haven't surrendered nor given up
no matter if one is in midst of a war
is i believe far superior and comforting than the
one that is forever external
bathed in truth is your wisdom dear Teri! and it is beyond words my gratitude for you sharing it with us.

If we know and do naught, are we not complicit? Inaction does not equal peace

Re: Re. the peace... in war
as one of my dearest and most admired poets here shared the wisdom of Wu Wei's words in her poem about thoughtful non-action, we can clearly see that those words don't apply when it come to freedom.
You are spot on dear wise Poetess...inaction in this case no way equals peace. glance of an alive soul in these words. most welcomed, the presence of the friends and their wisdom.
appreciation
beyond words.

A heart felt write. A growing tyranny demands a more conscious response - but interested to know what kind of response is useful? 'Gilets Jeunes'?

is the Poet esteemed.
a conscious response, the key there Josh. the kind of response i believe will depend on the circumstances. The key i believe is the essence, the moment when one decides not to give in...the freedom starts there.

Thanks for the helpful answer.
"the moment when one decides not to give in" - I'll take that as my modus operandi for now :))

Too many choose the fake " peace" of submission. We live in an Orwellian world.
