why an edited picture is not my thing
someone asked me once
why
you don't edit
the pictures you take
i replied
surely i can
edit
and surely once i do that
the photograph
may look nicer
but...
it is not the same
it is not the truth
anymore
the raw
undiluted
original
truth
of the moment
that was captured
some
like fiction
and some
like reality
i prefer
the latter
.

This is why, as a professional photographer, I try to get it on the first shot. Sometimes enhancements aren't dishonest if it's what the naked eye saw but the camera failed to capture. It is, after all, merely a machine operated by a fallible human.
All in perspective but always respect toward individual choice.

Welcome dear Sage One...
well you're sage one and indeed a true pro.
I agree with he fact the cameras many a times fail to capture what we clearly see after all it is a man made machine.
yes absolutely yes the perspective and the respect for individual choice and dare i say freedom to choose what they prefer.
appreciation
beyond words.

I'll leave that one alone... enough to say,
''De gustibus, non disputandum est...'' In matters of taste, there is no dispute...''
Individualism rules the day... Ely

That's a fair-enough perspective.
I'm not sure if even an unedited photo 'never lies' - depending on what's just outside of the shot, but I agree with the sentiment of wanting to 'tell truth' - especially amidst some much fakery these days.

Re. why an edited picture is not my thing
I agree to the extent of what the presenter wishes to convey, and to that end, the choice should be made.
My fear is with todays availabilities, that computer technology can turn truth to lies and vice versa, and many old axioms must fall by the wayside.
I applaud your stance, yet the choice remains optional, as should be, and as you so apply state within the poem.

I think you could edit out your last stanza and make this piece a better snapshot 😁

Why thankyou, I've felt nothing but welcomed since I came back, bit of a nightmare last time I was here, critique the wrong poem and people lose their minds, so I've been more positive and less judgey this time round, I feel the right terminology is less upfront honest, especially with those that ask for honest crutique..... Some don't actually mean it *gasp* 😁
By the way this ramble is not poking fun at you just a ramble, for the sake of rambling on in a ramble like fashion.....😅

Re: Re. why an edited picture is not my thing
welcome again
well, i see this place as a coral reef, rife with creatures of all colors
and types... some unfortunately not too thick of the skin kind.. and some downright prickly...
i have no issues on anyone's perspective being shared, in fact an honor to be honest someone sharing, taking a moment from their life to say something about your ink...means a..lot!
jokes apart, there was a time, i used to write trying for perfection and though nothing wrong i feel in that but the works never meant much to me.
then when i started inking the expression in its purity sans any other purpose, it gave my heart the ultimate joy i yearned for in writing. Critique and friendly or not so friendly feedback is always welcome. As it can only help not only me but also others reading the interaction. Maturity is a blessing rarely found. I adore it.
no, ramblings may they be to you...all is welcomed here. Friend.
