Poetry Enmasses

Poetry sometimes has the capacity
To organize people across boundaries  
And we just saw them waving  
From the lofts in their eyes  
Scurrying gate bound  
For the state capital-  
Self-actualization and altruism  
Transmuting identities;  
The natural world,  
The economy and the society  
A single compound surpassing  
The demands of the nation state  
Which primarily seeks to leverage force    
By military means; antiquated-  
Since the quality of life should  
Actually, account for something  
Yet the level of employability  
And consumerism-intake  
Still dictate legitimized participation  
In this “Democratic” process  
But the streets are still congregating  
In mass production  
Keeping alive only to  
Culturally reproduce  
First; rounding up  
Individuality.  
 
(This is not flowery poetics; this is pretty much how the thing works and I know some of ya'll hate to hear the truth coming out of my black ass but there you go)
