suicidal tendencies
admiting to life long suicidal tendencies,
i know of none who are willing, or able.
because unlike you and i, they worry dislegacies,
but WE have never been afraid to be labeled unstable.
so many just keep sayin they'll "never understand",
how you could do it, and they call you weak.
but as your kindred spirit, i knew the soul of the man,
they only WISH they had your strength, it's what they seek.
brave, and always noble, in how you would affect others,
simple minded people sayin you've "destroyed the kids".
but i know the pure torture you suffered to recover,
and the tormented strength you conjured to do this.

a life can be attractive when there is nothing there; a void, a nothingness, a voiceless scream. Be loved and love...life is worth it. Good read LyricalAngel.

Beautifully expressed. I feel it every day. I wrote this poem with alternative words, many times over, all I do is switch the verbs, rewrite the nouns and move the lines around, then it speaks the verse in echos never ending. jj

thank u so much. u have lost someone to suicide? i wrote this to someone i love very much who died by suicide this past april. this person and i both had "suicidal souls" most of our lives. i have written alot in regards to him the last 6+ mths, it helps me grieve. u are so very correct, the echos are neverending.

Yes, my best friend of 20 years. A year earlier we were roommates until he started acting very crazy. he was always a crazy person, everyone loved that about him, always unpredictable and fun. But he broke up with his girlfriend and then started stalking her. Then he started blaming everyone, including me, for their break-up, but it really was his idea. His craziness turned very dark for about a year and then he killed himself. There was no getting through to him. I have dealt with depression and thoughts of sucide for almost 30 years now. There are quite a few poems in my library about it. They are marked "Dark Poems". I have a lot of stuff, so they might not be easy to find, but I think most of the ones marked with the cow skull (at least it looks like a cow skull to me) have something to do with suicide), maybe not everyone, but most of them. Check pages 8 & 9 in my library, there are at least a few on each of them. My own battle with depression has never ended and I am always aware of the desire within me as it grows and subsides with stress and loneliness.

i'm sorry for your loss. i look forward to seeing what you've written about suicide...and it nice to meet a kindred soul. take care.
