Transcendence

Tranquility invites me to clear
my mind
Allowing me to leave the day’s troubles behind
 
Here in this space of relaxation
and repose
I’m comfortable and free to remove my clothes
 
Candles flicker creating  
dusky ambience  
Sweet spiced scent infuses the air as the flames dance
 
The music soothes with mellifluous mellow tones
Foretelling relief for my muscles, joints and bones
 
My Masseur is well-qualified and
so adept
He knows where to place hands and where they should be kept
 
He applies his pressures from my head to my toes
Navigating and charting my body as he goes
 
As tensions are released, I reflect on my escape
My world in perfect bliss far from life’s hectic pace.
