I was driving—
No I was awakening
To the fact that I’d been driving
Unconsciously
I don’t know how—
This has happened before
Not meditation
Not zoning out
Because I am safe—
I go through the motions
Like I did with you

Thank you. This was a poem that just hit me in a flash. From inspiration to submitting was probably less than 5 minutes. I'm glad because so many times I've had this moment, and I never made the connection before.

I feel like there's an unwritten final stanza after the written one:
"We were driving—
