Enlightenment of the Dark

It is in sheer darkness that we find our strength.. all the while keeping adversaries at arms length
It's where our perseverance is assuredly retained.. humility achieved,
and wisdom gained
Like a caterpillar, emerging from cocoon.. an exquisite butterfly he'll become when with darkness he's attuned
Light has no understanding unless one faces the shadows of black
You cannot infer freedom without minor setbacks
Happiness and zeal, you can achieve them both
It's in the darkest of hours you experience maturation and growth
