Oh Paul, my Grandmother went the same way.  It seems horribly cruel to live a lifetime and be robbed of the memories.

I'd like to think dementia shields its victims from the sadness of leaving before they feel they are ready.

Having just lost an (ex)-sister-in-law last Friday, not much older than me, and with so much still to give, sometimes the 'bigger picture' which I assume makes sense of it all is beyond me.
