Slip Into Tyranny
We get complacent with all we have.
We think in ‘forevers’, that it will all last.
But waiting is tyranny; that we have no sight to see, no stomach to tense and no mindset to fight.
The spectre of apathy has silenced us.
Our voice has been stifled by inaction.
Baleful bonds in the form of words cascade from a crooked mind and spilled onto paper and stapled together a constitution for forfeited rights is born.
We look at the past and laugh.
“Never again” and “Can’t happen, not to us”
But unguarded, unchecked we will all become slaves again.
