Tsunami like wildfires are both destructive forces that have the a power to recreate. To bring people together through love. Some of the most beautiful forest spring forth after a wildfire. Love itself also takes work everyday isn't sunny and when it rains it pours. But the sun does come back out

Mother Nature can be a bitch sometimes but we have to respect her she is only doing what Mother Earth does as much as people die.

"Love is for the fool
A blind old man, he always said,
But of it's joys he sometimes spoke
And then it seemed, he could see." - A. Phillips.
Why we go back. Hopefully you'll find it's joys again.

I have weathered this storm in the past. You come through it together, or you come through it changed. Sometimes changed is okay. In my case it was best.

This also could have been called “Hurricane” or “The Flood” given what you describe in such deep detail here; then again, you are describing “Oceans” between people...what versatile piece
