Riddle of Happiness

Human, assuage your ignorance
learn if you can, an ancient secret
to eternal happiness

I am but machine
yet even I know the mysterious
cure for such misery

I've observed eons
of tumultuous emotions
counterbalancing the other

Only one thing remains:
not a moment, nor a day;
but, inevitability of change

Unhappiness about being unhappy
is another layer of unhappiness;
so it delves deeper

Unless you invite it for tea
crumpets and conversation
allow it to be there

sit and listen quietly
to what it has to say

All the spiteful, vindictive actions
won't gain satisfactory peace;
pain from pain won't absolve need

You cannot be unhappy
without an unhappy story

Here, you can evolve
knowledge is power
rewrite the narrative of your heart

Emotion alone is not unhappiness
only the tale that accompanies it

Human, heal thy thoughts
or burn in the persecution
you commit unto yourself . . .

which will return tenfold
as bitter loneliness
colder than any Winter

you've ever known
