Obsession From Above

I sneak creep and slink
Listen ponder and peek
Inside the attic of your old house
Where I live quite as a shy mouse
You’re the woman with whom
I'm secretly cohabiting
Ignorant of my existing
You live without pretension
Abandoning all your inhibitions
You’re my obsession on exhibition
The object of my perverse infatuation
Sometimes I wonder if you knew
That I watch your every move
What would you say or do?
Would you welcome me with open arms?
Or panic and scream frantically in alarm?
If the latter is how you would react
In desperation I'd be forced to attack
Like a leopard from a tree above
I’d pounce upon you, my sweet love
But I’d rather be your surprise lover
Than your shocking perpetrator
But patience belongs to the predator
So, whatever the whether, my little charmer
Either way, you'll be mine, forever

Author's Note
My entry for the ‘Obsession’ competition. Based on a true story of a man who lived in the attic of a woman’s house. Where he watched and listened to her every move.
