A sailor's tears

Shiny Sapphire drops
from a sailor's eyes
falling into the ocean
about loneliness he cries
Poseidon takes note
as he swims through the water
sees the sapphire tears
as a gift to his daughter
So he calls on the dolphins
the whales and the sharks
to tell all the mermaids
to bring their harps
and come to take part
and play a happy tune
for his daughter's wedding
held in a lagoon
Hey sailor he says
No more tears you will shed
this night you will spend
in a sea grass bed
with an aquarian beauty
so loyal and fair
with scales on her body
and long soft hair
The sailor rejoices
wipes off his sad face
jumps straight in the water
for the mermaid's embrace
Seduced by her beauty
he abandons his duty
forever he vanishes without a trace

Author's Note
Originally I was working on my color series, but then this turned into a rather humorous piece, so I thought to let it be a poem to itself. I sometimes need to write something not so serious and lighten up a bit...especially after "Black"
