just to the west of that spatial freeway.

the world begins to go mad.

the queen remains unfound. the princess is sixteen, and she cannot rule. the fog grows deeper. darker. six have been lost. those who followed her majesty have fallen, never to return. the world's two lights flicker, and go out.

the world begins to go mad.

the garden's green grass and colorful flowers fade. the white god smiles, obsidian eyes blind to the plague of fire. the black devil watches, uncertain of the truth. one demon stands above all. she raises her wings to fly, and she falters.

the world begins to go mad.

the mother of the gods stands straight, brainwashed and bloodstained and screaming and scheming. the gods whisper, waiting for the time to rise from the ashes of an ark. it is never enough, and their twin fathers fall in disgrace.

the world begins to go mad.

the sun god casts his son into hellfire. the flames grow brighter, stronger. their world burns. his daughter, blinded by light, closes her eyes. she never opens them again. years later, her brother finds his pleasure in vengeance.

the world begins to go mad.

twelve temples, thirteen sacrifices. raised from birth, abandoned at the marble steps for glory. the murmurs of the past watch with hidden eyes like the stars. on a crescent moon night, love like an iron chain begins to asphyxiate.

the world begins to go mad.

the peaceful kingdom watches its enemy fall from the heavens. scarlet blood turns gilded gold, soon into corrupted violet. a mage recklessly casts a spell. eight dead. fifteen injured. their blood glitters in its taint.

Author's Note
There's a line in The Gray Garden just before the start of the Grey-Flame War where it says "The world begins to go mad." with very dramatic pausing. I wrote a poem about it, left it for two years, and added some stuff just now. It's /very/ fictionkind influenced. (Reuploaded from my old account, and edited.)
