The Shadow

Realization of the shadow archetype is the first step in the process of individuation.
I first met my shadow in a dream. I recognized him straight away and tried to beat the shit out of him.
He was intolerable. A smarmy little pimp with beady eyes and goatee. I grabbed him in a headlock and smashed him in the face until he fell to the ground unconscious over and over again until I realized I couldn't kill him. So I said, well if I can't kill you you’re just going to have to come with me. So I took off my jacket put it around his shoulders and off we went down the road together.
We’ve been palling around ever since and I’ve come to realize that we are all more alike than we are unalike. Acceptance has made my life infinitely more interesting.
