Earthing

she walks through forests
green embers burning
sunlight dappling through leaves
marking the earth in patterns
meant to be followed

her bare feet leaving no mark
quiet steps linking her to the trees
whispering their stories
to open ears

dew clings to her flesh
refreshingly cool in the heat
droplets caught on blades
that only sharpen senses

with closed eyes
she reaches out to the forest
bathing in it's deeply rooted vastness
holding history beneath
canopies and layers
upon layers of sediment

feet sinking into cushions of moss
blanketing the bases of trees
she lays, resting her body
against the welcoming soft
leaves air brushed in the breeze
a shifting orbit
ever grounded
