Dear Best Friend
Dear Best Friend, I love the way your eyes
Created those soft pink skies you painted,
And how they glowed when you sang lullabies,
And when those eyes met mine I near fainted
Dear Best Friend, I wish I could be him.
I wish I could help heal your wounded past
And hold you tight and kiss your lips, not him,
And if I could I’d make those moments last.
Dear Best Friend, I’ve seen you cry before,
And as I wipe away the tears I made,
I hate the fact I need something much more,
But to ignore these thoughts would be insane.
Dear Best Friend, I am in love with you,
And I simply wish you could love me too.

What a beautifully heartfelt poem, Bruce! It's tragic that it's an unrequited love, but your passion and dedication towards her is so pure. We could use more people like you in the world.

Thank you so much. I'm glad to be back! While she didn't feel the same, I'm gonna stay her best friend. It's hard, but I love her. And I'd never be willing to lose her to some stupid fantasy.
But I'll always keep this poem to remember just how deeply she made me feel.
