AS I LOOK IN THE MIRROR
As I look in the mirror, a solo parade,
I think, "I am fearfully, wonderfully made",
As it is reflecting my Adam-dressed body,
Showing me warts and all, skin smooth - and hairy
Where nature designed the 'body grass' to grow,
Posing like that "David", by Michaelangelo,
When as up-coming shepherd boy, not yet a king,
He'd brought Goliath down, no armour, just a sling.
(Whose story's lesson to me is - in life what counts
Is how well you use what you've got, not large amounts.)
I am more David than Goliath in stature,
But feel I make, for my age, a healthy picture.
Around next year's corner I will be sixty,
But can't think of that number without word 'sexy'!
