Soul Mate
I stand on an isolated shore
watching airplanes slice
through the warm indigo sky,
towards a land of dreams.
There is a deep ocean between us
though, these threads of love
are tightly bound, for we are
inseparable souls.
As the seasons change,
flowers will wither in the
cool autumn rain, though this
covenant shall remain, eternal.
All alone I gaze through my
solitary window, into the cosmos;
wrestling with immutable desires,
wondering if she could be the one?
Shadows flicker under candlelight;
a soft scent of lavender fills the air,
as I dip my quill in ink, feeling her
warmth in my heart.
