Will you stand your ground when it's time to get down or will you lay down?
Are you brave enough to stand up for something instead of looking to the ground?
The sound of silence is deafening while they keep killing without remorse
So what is one to do when tired of being screwed without any recourse
Star Wars once said that the force resides within
Dr. John Henrik Clarke once said that we have no friends
So what will it take to end this nightmare called the American dream?
Where are our allies preventing our demise by being a unified team?
It seems that they're truant pursuant to the needs of the ruling affluent
We've been seeking equality since the 60's without any congruence
The youth say screw it and stay high so their third eyes can't recognize the pain
While people like I with sober eyes are tired and trying to devise a change

Some Of Us Will Not Give Up , Damon...
We Are Here , Most May Not See , But
We Are Gathering , Under Cover , Waiting
Only Hesitating , For The Call , And Others
Like Me , Are Undermining The Walls , So
When The Call Comes , The Damage Will
Already Be Done , And We Shall Over Run
Those Whose Kingdom Come Now Past
We Shall Be The Future Which Shall Last
And We Are The Ones Who Shall Overcome ,
Who Shall Not Succumb , We Are Not Numb ,
We Are Anyone And Everyone !

Well said, Damon... as usual, you've hit the nail upon the head... and with great clarity...
I do have one question... in your last line, are using the word, "I" in (..people like I with sober eyes..) for poetic effect? rather than, "me" which is (technically) correct? Thanks again for the good write... ely

Thank you and yes I used I instead of me because it flowed better with the rhyme scheme. I tend to do that regularly when writing poetry but not when writing something formal. I appreciate your feedback.
