One More Reason
Riding the waves of time
Nothing can change my mind
You have to stay behind
Release these chains that bind
Yet you still remain blind
I heard it through the grapevine
That you're in pain, but can't find
A care to give, just a nightmare relived
I'm not coming back to you
There's no take backs, rewinds, redos
What will it take to get it through
Your head, this love you can't renew
Betrayal's not thing you can just forget and erase
The wounds reopen each and every time I see your face
I will not chase the pain, it always stays
There is no need for cheap replays
Over and over every day
Of the time you went away
Left me in the dark to fight
My demons when I lost my light
I smothered them with no remorse
They were no match for me, of course
I'd do the same to you if it was worth the price to pay
But I'm content to leave you in your state of disarray
And watch you fall apart, like what you did to my heart
Just know if I had one more reason
It would be open season
