a liar's tale

taste the flavor of your guilt
it tastes of the lies
spit by your tongue
soon these omissions have life all their own
you hide from them
but they're are walking around your small town

soon there is a buzz
your little white lies
have turned into gossip
with speculation about what you're really up to

Ms. Jones heard this from so and so
Mr. Henry another version
they have so many disguises
it's hard to pick them out of a lineup
but they have the same DNA as you
having come from your soul's fountain

soon the CIA over truth is on the case
picking apart your cover story
so you have a choice make up more lies
or face the music
