Instead of leading the horses to water,
and trying to make them drink,
we can let the horses be free,
and trust them to know for themselves when they are thirsty.

I am not a Buddhist but I do adhere to the concept you speak of. Well written...the metaphor is right on. A lot said in few words.

I really like this poem...it’s short and straight to the point...it’s definitely food for thought

Thank you misstess. I have written in most forms, but my latest inspiration is haiku and koan. Trying to,use more intuition than argumentation.
