-one day in December

her tall thoughts erase in moon-lit bareness
as lost as a young heart freshly broken
a new tide turns where there was to be no shore
undertow whispers, ode, the tremolo
a smile fades out of tune; a song remembered
of the Loon she would cry, until one day in December
