No Falling Without Rising

After many years
of strutting out the non-conformist
- the subversive of common beliefs and practices -
attitude,
(to be fair, battling self-doubt all along - and rightly so),
he came to terms with
- beyond any reasonable doubt -
being average...

Ouch!!!
Painful, right?...

Strangely enough, not so painful...
He seemed to deal with it rather well...
He seemed content within this new context
- if not enjoyment,
at least, a reassuringly serene melancholy -

After all
he, always felt shortchanged by a feeble imagination
- honestly, a very mediocre fantasy wall -
and, always, allowed his mind drifting
- even if with a degree of discomfort -
to his grandmother's, often repeated and rather Pythian, scold:

"Listen, boy! Everybody is different
and if you are not different
you are not everybody!"
