Unworthy

The Path Through Black Trees
leads to a quiet stone dais

You lay still there and wait
for the spirit voices

Sometimes they accept you
and you become one of them

Your pain ended
Your lonliness gone

The Path becomes
one Black Tree longer

The wind becomes
one whisper stronger

Sometimes you are rejected
and sent back to walk the earth

To live, learn and love longer
To suffer through your sorrow
to discover what the heart of it is

The journey isn't complete
until one knows oneself

The soul isn't whole
until it understands
the circles and cycles
of agony and ecstasy

I've still a long road to walk
before I return to the Path
