Sleep
Go slow to the darkening night.
Leave no ripples on the lake,
Touch light the air you breathe.
Do not disturb the dusk.
the fading blues and white,
Calm the heart.
Stay the flickering eyelids,
Listen for the owl and fox
they must not hear your thoughts.
Blank your mind,
Neither think nor fear,
laughter for another day.
Neither smile or weep.
Do not mourn, nor please.....
anger unknown, sickness gone awhile.
Smooth the wrinkled brow.
Relaxed the arm.Lle down the limbs
Sleep, sleep, sleep and deep,
Sleep the sleep of childhood,
with dreams of yesterday
and remember not tomorrow.
Leave no ripples on the lake,
Touch light the air you breathe.
Do not disturb the dusk.
the fading blues and white,
Calm the heart.
Stay the flickering eyelids,
Listen for the owl and fox
they must not hear your thoughts.
Blank your mind,
Neither think nor fear,
laughter for another day.
Neither smile or weep.
Do not mourn, nor please.....
anger unknown, sickness gone awhile.
Smooth the wrinkled brow.
Relaxed the arm.Lle down the limbs
Sleep, sleep, sleep and deep,
Sleep the sleep of childhood,
with dreams of yesterday
and remember not tomorrow.
