So this morning Bren

I was driving to work...  
There was a winter fire on the side of the road. Some samaratins were directing traffic away from the fire... Some rather bombarding idiots in SUV's chose to team up and drive headon into oncoming traffic.
Well Bren, my little car "Clarrisa" which I think is a lovely name for a car, was in there way. So they hooted and shouted obscenities at me (none of which sounded like "have an awesome morning") I raised my hands and gestured. Like where exactly am I to go? If one of these huge dudes, don't get out of their truck / 4x4 / farmers weekly and open Clarissa's door; only to punch my eye and leave me with a shiner. I ask you... Wtf? I prefer my independence from "normal" people. They suck! Hence my poem... I won't join teams of testosterone, with a chip fryer on their shoulder. It's my life, Clarissa and I drive it.

I was drawn to this because I immeadiatly heard your voice saying “shove it” in my head and it made me laugh, because you can rant like a goodun. Lol.

Anyway, the bones of the matter:

I was never any good  
at team sports  
as a child  

[line break here? Just because that’s an independent thought]

The expectation  
that if one  
believes
a thing to work in a particular way  
that a group of
three or more  
should to  
 
Never sat well in my gut  

[One day I will wrap my head around your insane use of capitals, but I let it go because it’s very much your style. I’d break “a thing to work” into two lines, but that’s me. I’m also questioning why “never sat well in my gut” is on its own line. Direct flow from the previous stanza - I’d move it up. Also “should to” is “too”]
 
Forgive my honesty  
when no one  
is on the field  
if one runs across it  
Smashing the one  

[smashing the other one? I’m stumbling there big time. I can’t make it make sense there. ]

is not  
the brightest plan  
even if  
the team book  
thinks it so  

[I think moving the last two lines as a separate thought strengthens that finish]

The team book  
never sat well in my gut

Exactly why singles Tennis was so appealing to me in my youth. Your success and failure depends on yu alone. I did enjoy the camaraderie of Soccer.  I enjoy very much your take on team sports. Bravo!

I get the drift of this, you don't like team sports, but I must say individual sports are underrated. I prefer solo sports myself. Cheers! :)
