Before I was a cats' claw
I was kitten soft

Disturbing but eloquent lines that might work as a song with the chorus:

The burning is forgetting, but the rage may be impossible to let go. Kitten soft to a cat's claw, possibly a necessary transformation. Brilliantly written!
