Burn the night
Burn the sea
Burn him out
of me....
I was just a little thing
Grasshopper, really
Burn the night
Burn the sea
Burn him out
of me...
Before I was a cats' claw
I was kitten soft
Burn the night
Burn the sea
Burn him out
of me...
While at first he seemed friendly
I soon began to envy
A world without him
Burn the night
Burn the sea
Burn him out
of me...
His horrific touch
And that sentence says...

Cut through the city like flesh
her screaming voice the sirens
quick to steal your fledgling breath
Rivers threaded with iron
This is my favourite part
when the city night comes on
Dazzling displays of her heart
as lights twinkle one by one
Tube trains runaway horses
cantering into her veins
from a dozen bright sources
Organs exposed to the rain

Self Portrait in Shadow
As one of their own
Tiny seedling, grown
in the shadow of the wolves
shark infested crimson coves
I grew up and blood
was common as mud
Spilling as the wine
splashing ocean brine
and in the darkness
I found a likeness
of all I ever wanted
and now I'm haunted
Longed for by shadow
Burning at my bones
The longings therein
are all born of sin
so the darkness becomes home

Shells crash against feet
where land and tide meet
Dull grey explosions, the rocks
live where times' heart beats
Crabs scuttle to shore
as the sun begins to snore
Winking over waves until
stars blink on before
ships wreck in the night
Burning satellite
I'm a shark girl- all my dreams
are of blue so bright
you can see for miles
Pebbles glint mosaic tiles
artfully dropped by nature
into starfish piles
where land and tide meet
Dull grey explosions, the rocks

She dances like a chorus
Unison, music
Arms around her neck
Absinthe bleeding from my pores
The end of the world
The sky is falling
God stops for no disaster
Tonight nor do I
As we light the pipe
Smoke clinging to curves like silk
I kiss her poison
Tasting cyanide
Falling to the deathly throes
As the antelope
And she, the lion
Claws sunk deep in dark chambers
That never see light
Caverns in my heart
Left to the cobwebs and bats
I am the rat...
