Enigmatically Magnetic
Your eyes have a built in echo
With the clarity of a cloudless day
It's as unexplainable as the mist
that emanates when you breathe.
A hemorrhage of emotions
Scrolling out in wisps
Curling like tendrils of wet hair
In the spaces where shadows lie.
I cannot fathom what they hold
Or why it is they pulse with depth
I only know that they do.
What larger ambitions lie there
Tied with hope and lodged inside my head
I cannot pull them free
The entanglement of the start and stop of heartbeats
that catch in my whispered breath
The layers of vulnerability
that reach but not too eagerly
Holding back.
I cannot stop the pull of the paralysis
The need to solve the puzzle that is solving me instead
Toward the captivation of its drawing power
Darkness with a tinge of light.
Silhouettes with satellites circling, hovering
A rhythmic and very much alive unspoken sentence
Suspended until magnets close in on one another
Arranged carefully until the electricity of touch
Melts the lures into one.
